err, the 1992 NCAA Championship game UK vs Duke would like to have a word with you. Laettner hits a last second shot to win the NCAA Championship. That was the definition of an epic win
Check your facts. It was not the Championship Game, but Duke did go on to win that year.
My wife went to NC State and was pretty sick after seeing this happen live on TV. State was up 5 with under a minute left to go in OT… Hit your free throws.
Anyone who claims he ‘missed it on purpose’ doesn’t realize that if he just tried to make the FT they would have been up 3… so the worst that can happen is a 2OT. Now, if they were only up 1 at the time I see the point in missing on purpose… but not when you are up 2 and going for 3.
I’m all in favor of Up Next In Sports posting awesome sports videos, but is it too much to ask that they either be old and retro or somewhat recent news? This was a week ago.
He probably missed the free throw on purpose, so that they couldn’t advance the ball and would have to make that ridiculous shot.(I Know that this is true in the NBA, but i’m not sure about NCAA)
Er. No. At least you see a lot of scoring in basketball, not 2-3 goals as in soccer, where one lucky play could result in a win even if your team sucked the whole game.
But hey, your opinion. I like basketball a lot more than soccer, personally.
I’d like to see Duke or UNC to top that. EPIC WIN!

Okay, any buzzer beater like this or the 1992 NCAA championship winning shot, is an epic win. Am I completely correct now?
That’s why the Gators are EPIC WIN!
Right, the gators were losing that entire game and were like 3 for 26 in 3 pts, but they are definitely an epic win…
That game was a battle for who could suck most. UF got lucky, but still sucks.
Apparently you didn’t watch the game. The gators were nowhere near loosing the entire time, I believe there were 13 lead changes.
If you need to make a 3/4 court shot or you lose, I’d say that’s pretty close to losing.
If you haven’t seen this yet, you fail as a sports fan (and well said Notme, well said).

The sound doesn’t work for me. Kinda ruined the moment.
I was THERE!
This would only happen to NC State. Worst luck ever.
Very true. The powers that be would never let us actually win a game…
That’s my man. Love you CP25!
I was at that game EPIC win
I was there….. not only did they sink that shot, it was a white guy. No racism here but that still confuses me very much. But still GO PACK!
