In .5 miles turn left. In .5 miles turn left Recalculating…

Sigh…I’m a Nascar fan and while I appreciate the effort, there ARE better (and less worn out) Nascar jokes. But thanks for thinking of us!
The bad thing is that this is true. The good thing is that it is true of a half-mile bullring quarter-covered in Cup cars.
Yeah, at least someone on here thinks of NASCAR as a sport. Step in the right direction I think.
nascar is so stupid.
And this proves it! Driving around an asphalt oval for 5 hours IS NOT A SPORT!
It can be if you consider one errant twitch can result a accident, possibly resulting in death. That is at least my theory as to why people watch it.
Some people don’t consider playing with balls while wearing skintight pants a sport, either.
Maybe NASCAR isn’t the best representative of racing, but watch F1 or WRC and tell me it doesn’t take skill.
it doesnt take skill to go in circles………………you asked
No, but it does take skill to do it at 200mph by yourself, never mind with 42 other cars who’re all trying to get or stay in front of you. If you don’t believe me, dial 1-800-be-petty.
I have a hard enough time making left turns at 40 mph. That being said, I think being a NASCAR racer would actually be fun. But the way I drive I’d likely blow the crap out of my car within minutes.
WRC doesn’t go in circles. try going close a hundred miles an hour over dirt, gravel, and mud with trees on either side of a road not much wider than your car. How many people have died playing American football, where they have to wear pound of padding to protect themselves from hitting other guys standing about a foot away.
Watch WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) – one race there contains more amount of fun that entire NASCAR or F1 season.
NASCAR does require skill, I’ll say that, but that doesn’t make it a sport.
ahaha EPIC! +
Someone really thinks the track has 5 mile long straight-aways?
“.”5, as in 1/2, silly
I think that’s hilarious. I couldj ust hear my own GPS saying that… haha
This is pretty good. UNIS finally brought the funny!
Typing is a skill, that doesn’t make it a sport.
Same can go for baseball, anybody can hit a ball with a stick, and then run. Football, anybody can throw a ball in the air and then hit someone in the face. Futball, anybody can kick a ball into a net. Basketball, anybody can bounce a ball up and down running back and forth and put the ball into a basket.
So, by what I heard, if everyone can do it, it does not make it a sport. So, the things I’ve listed are easily done by other people, are they not sports as well?
People shoot defenseless animals with large guns and call it sport. To each his own people…move along.
nascar is not a sport. and neither is hunting. no way. driving in circle is not a sport no matter how fast you do it. it requires no physical skill. and hunting is just a joke.
Really? Try flooring it in your car going around corners for 5 hours in rush hour traffic with no AC then double the speed. Hell, try playing any NASCAR video game and say it doesn’t require any skill. I may not be a fan of NASCAR at all, but I can at least appreciate what those guys go through, unlike football which is just a bunch of guys butting heads.
No physical skill? Surely you must be joking! Do you know what kind of physical shape these guys have to be in to run those cars? Its very taxing, physically, to drive in one of those cars in all types of weather, keep mental clarity… believe me, they need to be able to think QUICKLY when avoiding a wreck at 150mph, or at least trying to. Sharing a track with 42 other drivers all hungry for a win, the strategies played out between driver, crew chief and the pit crew. Just because it doesn’t involve a ball or beating on each other, doesn’t make it less of a sport.
Sheesh, even the guys in the pit crew are athletes! Do you know how physically demanding it is for 7 guys to jump over a wall, and complete 4 tire changes, refuel and any other necessary adjustments in under 13 seconds? I challenge you to remove one tire in that amount of time.
NASCAR, like Chess has a lot of strategy. Only a lot more interesting, and a whole lot faster.
i can’t believe you nascar fans haven’t pointed out that there is actually strategy involved with these races! 2 tires? 4 tires? pitting for gas or staying out because you think your fuel mileage can last to the end. then there are the personalities… the guys that wear the “black” hats, the guys that wear the “white” hats, the dark horses, favorites and underdogs.
there really is more to the sport if you just give it a chance. i challenge y’all to watch the daytona 500 or the bristol night race in august… or even the race this saturday (10/17) from lowe’s motor speeday.
it isn’t about ‘flooring’ it for 400-600 miles in a car that is 120 degrees, there are tracks that require finesse on the brakes and throttle.
There’s all that as well, but I think getting the trolls to try it for themselves, then pushing their eyestalks back in would be more effective.
I challenge anyone to sit in a car on a steaming hot day or evening an drive as fast & as hard as you can. You’re the only one who controls the car, you have 600+ h.p. under your left foot (and a brake, that you DO NEED on occasion). Your only goal is to be ahead of everyone else at the end.
OR you can play footballand try to stop anyone that has the ball (and he’s either smaller or bigger than you are) and he has no regard for pain what-so-ever.
What’s the difference? (Its always so nice & easy when you’re sitting on your sofa.)
I’ve seen Poker being played on Sports Channels and ESPN…..Poker? Seriously? How is that considered a sport? Coming up next…. Rock, Paper, Scissors on ESPN3. WTF…….
